We Like Big Boats And We Cannot Lie! – What’s New At Scubalov

The year 2019 has been a turning point for the dive shop. This year we have a host of new projects and exciting new additions to the dive shop to welcome the new diving season.

Our new MS class boat Humpback!

For a while now, we have been kept away from the best world-class dive sites around Havelock. After almost three years of struggling with the government changing license requirements for diving boats without a solution, we finally found one in our new MS Class boat Humpback. This beauty is 12m long custom diving vessel with twin 250hp engines and we’re so excited to meet her! This is one of the best things that has happened to all divers on the island and will finally open up all our favourite dive sites for you to visit again.

Enriched Air Nitrox

This year we will also be providing Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) for our divers. This opens up the possibility of doing an Enriched Air Nitrox specialty (with dives) and also longer deep dives for fun divers and course students. EANx is a gas mixture with a higher concentration of oxygen that increases your bottom time especially on deep dives.

Earthsong

This is something very close to our hearts that we have been planning for the longest time. Earthsong is our new conservation arm that will seep into all our activities to ignite a long lost curiosity and love for nature. As part of this new movement we have planned informative walks, talks and snorkeling trips for you to explore the intriguing ecology, natural history and traditions of the Andamans, along with regular beach clean-ups and reef monitoring initiatives.

Freediving courses

mangeshThis season we also have a Freediving instructor on the team who can teach you the proper techniques for safe breath hold diving. Freediving is basically diving down on one breath without any scuba equipment.
