Expert Dive Training with the PADI Emergency First Response and Rescue Diver Course Combo

The PADI Emergency First Response & Rescue Diver Combo builds confidence and saves lives above & beneath the surface.

The PADI Emergency First Response course is designed for everyone—not just divers. You’ll learn how to manage medical emergencies with calm and clarity. From CPR (primary care) to first aid (secondary care), this course teaches you how to handle a wide range of real-world situations. It’s a required step for the PADI Divemaster course and pairs perfectly with the PADI Rescue Diver course—but it’s just as valuable for parents, teachers, travelers, or anyone wanting to be prepared.

You’ll walk away with the ability to support someone in distress until professional help arrives—whether it’s a deep cut, an allergic reaction, or a roadside accident. The PADI Emergency First Response course is about becoming the person others can rely on during a crisis.

ACurious about how this course fits into your dive training? Head over to our blog to learn more about the PADI Emergency First Response journey and how it builds the foundation for becoming a rescue-ready diver.

The PADI Rescue Diver Course is where your diving journey shifts from self-exploration to looking out for your dive buddies. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to become the diver everyone feels safe with underwater, this is it.

Through the PADI Rescue Diver course, you’ll train to anticipate and prevent problems before they happen, and respond with confidence when they do. You’ll learn to deal with a wide range of scenarios—assisting tired divers, calming panicked ones, and handling searches for missing or unconscious divers. It’s intense, immersive, and pushes you to think on your fins. By the end of the course, you won’t just feel like a more capable diver—you’ll be one.

At ScubaLov, we make sure your PADI Rescue Diver training is realistic, engaging, and filled with the kind of situational practice that prepares you for the unexpected. It’s a must-do course for those looking to become PADI Divemasters or Instructors, but it’s equally valuable for any diver who simply wants to be more aware, more prepared, and more confident underwater.

If you’re ready to take the leap, trust us—it’s worth it.

Feeling curious about what it’s really like? Our PADI Rescue Diver blog dives deeper into what the course involves, why the Andamans is perfect for the course, and walks you through why this course is considered a turning point for most divers.

    Important

Our course price includes the cost of the PADI eManual. If you prefer eLearning we offer a discount on the course when you affiliate the code with ScubaLov. Please read the PADI Medical Statement instructions before signing up, as we need a self or doctor's declaration that you are fit to dive!

If you don’t like reading a book (i.e., the PADI eManual), we offer the PADI eLearning, which is a convenient and flexible way to complete the knowledge development portion of PADI scuba diving courses online, at your own pace. This allows divers to learn the theory from anywhere with internet access and spend more time on the practical, in-water training during their diving trip.

    • Engaging Learning Experience: Unlike the eManual, eLearning utilizes interactive videos, animations, and quizzes to make learning enjoyable and effective.
    • Skill Improvement: Online learning allows for continuous skill review and improvement, ensuring you are well-prepared for your practical sessions.
    • Confidence Building: By mastering the theoretical aspects online, you can feel more confident and comfortable during your in-water training.
    • Access to Updated Materials: PADI eLearning provides access to the latest course materials and updates, ensuring you have the most current information.

When you sign up for PADI eLearning through ScubaLov, we offer you a discount of 6,000 INR on the PADI Rescue Diver Course.

I use prescription medication. Can I dive?

It depends on the medication and your health condition. Before diving, you’ll need to fill out a medical form. If you answer “yes” to any questions, you’ll need clearance from a doctor to ensure it’s safe for you to dive. Safety first!

When do I need to get a medical clearance from my doctor?

If you have any pre-existing medical condition, you will need a medical clearance from your doctor/physician. If you are above 50 years of age, you will need a medical clearance from your doctor/physician even if you have no medical conditions. If you are under 50 years of age and have no medical conditions, you can sign a self-declaration.

I am a doctor. Can I sign my own medical form?

Even if you’re a doctor, it’s recommended to have another medical professional sign your form. This ensures an unbiased evaluation of your fitness to dive and aligns with diving safety protocols.

Is it really necessary to check the PADI Medical Form?

We strongly advise that you check the PADI Medical Statement before signing up for a course and traveling to the Andaman. We will need to see a medical clearance in case of a pre-existing medical condition, or when you above 50 years of age,  without it you cannot dive! On the island, you will not find a doctor who can assess your medical condition.

What if I cannot complete my course?

If, for some reason, your course is left incomplete, we will be able to refund you some money for what is left to be done. You can complete the course with us at a later date or you can obtain a referral form from us to complete your course elsewhere within 12 months time.

I am a certified diver, but I haven’t dived in a long time. What must I do before I dive again?

If it has been more than 6 months since you last dived, we advise you to undertake a ‘Refresher’ course, to revisit standard scuba diving skills and safety procedures. Our ‘full refresher’ is inclusive of one shore dive, while the ‘lite refresher’ includes two boat dives.

Do I need to know first aid before I sign up?

Yes, but don’t worry—if you haven’t done it yet, you can complete the Emergency First Response (EFR) course with us. It takes just half a day and covers all the basics you need.

What if I panic during the training scenarios?

That’s totally okay. The course is all about preparing you for real-life situations at your pace. You’ll be supported every step of the way by instructors who’ve seen it all (and stayed calm through it).
