If the ocean feels like a mystery you’ve always wanted to unlock, PADI Discover Scuba Diving is the perfect way to get started. This beginner-friendly program is your chance to experience deep sea diving without any prior experience—even if you’re a non-swimmer.
At ScubaLov, the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience begins with a short, easy briefing (dry or video) followed by in-water training in chest-deep water. Here, you’ll learn how to use the scuba equipment and practice a few basic safety skills under the close supervision of a certified dive professional.
Once you’re feeling confident, we take you out by boat to one of our favorite offshore dive sites. Surrounded by vibrant corals and curious marine life, you’ll experience the wonder of the underwater world firsthand.
PADI Discover Scuba Diving is designed to be safe, fun, and unforgettable. In fact, our biggest challenge is getting participants out of the water—not in!
Whether you’re a swimmer or not, this experience is your ticket to adventure.
The sun rises early in the Andamans—around 5:30 AM—even though we follow Indian Standard Time, and thus, our biological clocks are set for Thailand. Our Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program typically runs for about 2.5 hours and is available in three time slots: 5:30 AM, 8:00 AM, and 10:30 AM. Sign-ups happen a day in advance.
On the day of your dive, we begin with a short confined water session to help you get comfortable with breathing underwater and learning basic safety skills. Once you’re ready, we head out by boat for your deep-sea dive, which lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes—an experience you won’t forget!

All our PADI courses include the cost of the PADI eManual, Theory Revision, Training Dives, Dive Equipment, and PADI certification fees (apart from Open Water Referral & Dive Master / Instructor Course).
The DM and Instructor Course do not include cost of materials! In addition, the DM & Instructor Certification fees will have to be paid directly to PADI. The Open Water Referral Dive Centre – where you did your academics and pool training – will issue the Materials and Certification Code.

If you don’t like reading a book (ie the PADI eManual) we offer the PADI eLearning which is a convenient and flexible way to complete the knowledge development portion of PADI scuba diving courses online, at your own pace. This allows divers to learn the theory from anywhere with internet access and spend more time on the practical, in-water training during their diving trip.

It depends on the medication and your health condition. Before diving, you’ll need to fill out a medical form. If you answer “yes” to any questions, you’ll need clearance from a doctor to ensure it’s safe for you to dive. Safety first!
If you have any pre-existing medical condition, you will need a medical clearance from your doctor/physician. If you are above 50 years of age, you will need a medical clearance from your doctor/physician even if you have no medical conditions. If you are under 50 years of age and have no medical conditions, you can sign a self-declaration.
Even if you’re a doctor, it’s recommended to have another medical professional sign your form. This ensures an unbiased evaluation of your fitness to dive and aligns with diving safety protocols.
We strongly advise that you check the PADI Medical Statement before signing up for a course and traveling to the Andaman. We will need to see a medical clearance in case of a pre-existing medical condition, or when you above 50 years of age, without it you cannot dive! On the island, you will not find a doctor who can assess your medical condition.
Of course! You can sign up for the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Program, an experienced dive professional will accompany you at all times. They can swim for you if required! For the Open Water Course swimming is a must as we will ask you to swim tor 200 meters (or snorkel for 300 meters) and float for 10 minutes in water to deep to stand up in.
The minimum age for scuba diving is 10 years old for most PADI programs. There’s no maximum age as long as you’re healthy and meet the medical requirements. However, as per local Andaman rules, the minimum age is 12 years and maximum age is 60 years.
You need to wait for at least 12 hours before you can fly after a single dive and at least 18 hours after multiple dives.
Your diving depth depends on your certification level. If you have signed up for Discover Scuba Dive, the maximum depth you dive to will be 12 metres (40 feet). Open Water Certified Divers can dive to 18 metres, while Advanced Open Water Certified Divers can go up to 30 metres. Only divers certified with Deep Speciality can dive upto 40 metres, which is the depth limit of recreational diving.
