If the ocean feels like a mystery you’ve always wanted to unlock, PADI Discover Scuba Diving is the perfect way to get started. This beginner-friendly program is your chance to experience deep sea diving without any prior experience—even if you’re a non-swimmer.
At ScubaLov, the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience begins with a short, easy briefing (dry or video) followed by in-water training in chest-deep water. Here, you’ll learn how to use the scuba equipment and practice a few basic safety skills under the close supervision of a certified dive professional.
Once you’re feeling confident, we take you out by boat to one of our favorite offshore dive sites. Surrounded by vibrant corals and curious marine life, you’ll experience the wonder of the underwater world firsthand.
PADI Discover Scuba Diving is designed to be safe, fun, and unforgettable. In fact, our biggest challenge is getting participants out of the water—not in!
Whether you’re a swimmer or not, this experience is your ticket to adventure.
The sun rises early in the Andamans—around 5:30 AM—even though we follow Indian Standard Time, and thus, our biological clocks are set for Thailand. Our Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program typically runs for about 2.5 hours and is available in three time slots: 5:30 AM, 8:00 AM, and 10:30 AM. Sign-ups happen a day in advance.
On the day of your dive, we begin with a short confined water session to help you get comfortable with breathing underwater and learning basic safety skills. Once you’re ready, we head out by boat for your deep-sea dive, which lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes—an experience you won’t forget!

Our Discover Scuba Diving rates are inclusive of the confined training before the dive, your open water dive(s), equipment rental, photos & videos, refreshments on the boat, and guide charges. We do register your PADI Discover Scuba Dive with PADI to comply with ISO Standards and Quality Control.
Our Boat Discover Scuba Dives are registered with PADI. You will get an acknowledgement from PADI that you have completed a single Discover Scuba Dive experience. PADI will also send you an Q&A email to check if we have completed your dive at the highest standards. We do not conduct Try Dives (like many other dive operators) as they are not registered, not legitimate, non-insured and non-authorised in Scuba Diving. For us your safety is paramount and we prefer working in a transparent way!
It depends on the medication and your health condition. Before diving, you’ll need to fill out a medical form. If you answer “yes” to any questions, you’ll need clearance from a doctor to ensure it’s safe for you to dive. Safety first!
If you have any pre-existing medical condition, you will need a medical clearance from your doctor/physician. If you are above 50 years of age, you will need a medical clearance from your doctor/physician even if you have no medical conditions. If you are under 50 years of age and have no medical conditions, you can sign a self-declaration.
Even if you’re a doctor, it’s recommended to have another medical professional sign your form. This ensures an unbiased evaluation of your fitness to dive and aligns with diving safety protocols.
We strongly advise that you check the PADI Medical Statement before signing up for a course and traveling to the Andaman. We will need to see a medical clearance in case of a pre-existing medical condition, or when you above 50 years of age, without it you cannot dive! On the island, you will not find a doctor who can assess your medical condition.
